Anaplastology Training
Anaplastology Education is Multidisciplinary
The majority of AAA members have academic degrees in medical, dental, and allied health fields. Many have an extensive art background in addition to the medical sciences. There are various specialties involved in prosthetic care. The majority of speakers and guests that attend the annual AAA conference are affiliated with professional specialties that promote the study and advancement of facial and somato prosthetics within their own programs.
While there is no separate or distinct college level course curriculum for the position and title of Anaplastologist, there are course curriculums that supply some but not all of the training required to work as an Anaplastologist. These programs lead to a degree/certificate in:
- Prosthetics/3D Model design
- Orthotics/Prosthetics
- Ocularistry
- Medical Illustration
- Dental Laboratory Technology
- Prosthodontics/Maxillofacial Prosthodontics
as well as Medicine, Dentistry, Art, Science and Allied health fields.
