What is IAA?
The IAA is the trade association for individuals who work in anaplastology, an allied health field that provides custom prosthetic rehabilitation for absent, disfigured, or malformed facial and body parts. The IAA promotes quality patient care by supporting the development of best practices in anaplastology through educational conferences, networking, publication, and advocacy opportunities.

In 1980 Walter Spohn and a group of like-minded colleagues founded the American Anaplastology Association (AAA) at Stanford University, in Palo Alto, California. In 2008 the AAA voted to change the name of the organization to the International Anaplastology Association in recognition of the emerging global profession of clinical anaplastology. Our members work in 20 countries around the world.
